Today we talked about the two essays and compared the details. The essay "Fish Cheeks" by Amy Tan is a great model to base your own PRE. It's full of lively, creative details that make the experience stand out. Pay attention to the words she uses, the adjectives and adverbs, and how they color the portrait of her family. Then, compare them to the other essay, "My Dog's Death," and analyze how the lack of details make the piece difficult, and basically, pointless to read for both pleasure and meaning.
